Great overnight stay here, the receptionist was lovely and very welcoming, check in was a breeze. Free parking is a bonus, and the rooms and facilities were spotless and well presented. Water pressure was great too! We didn't use the pool, but it was sparkling clean as well. The location is very handy, super close to the beach, though do expect a little road noise early in the morning. This is a great option for a value-for-money pit stop on the GC.

We loved our stay at the Blue Heron! The rooms were super cute and comfy, the pool area was great, and the location was perfect - just a short stroll to the beach and great cafes. Would definitely stay here again, highly recommend!

Stayed at Blue Heron at the end of November for 1 night. I want to begin the review by saying I stayed here before and enjoyed my stay very much that’s why I rebooked. The night I stayed there were roadworks occurring out the front of the motel. The sound went all night until at least 3am and was incredibly loud - grinding, scraping, reversing sounds. I used ear plugs for hours and still couldn’t sleep. If you want a decent night’s sleep I’d avoid this motel at all cost until all roadworks are absolutely completed. On a side note, I tried to call the GC council to issue a noise complaint, and they automatically directed me to the contractor who wasn’t taking calls at that time - incredibly disappointing.
