I visited Nexus Performance Gym yesterday, and I have to say—it’s easily one of the best gyms in Queensland.
Staff & Service:
Kivah, one of the staff members, was incredibly friendly and professional. Even before I arrived, I messaged the gym’s Instagram account, and he took the time to reply thoughtfully, making sure all my questions were answered. When I got there, he greeted us warmly and patiently explained everything. It really made us feel welcomed and comfortable throughout our visit.
Equipment & Setup:
There isn’t a single bad machine in this gym. Every piece of equipment is top-tier and clearly hand-picked. Some of the standout ones include the Prime row, Nautilus lat pulldown, various Integrity machines, and the Atlantis pendulum squat. On top of that, there’s an impressive range of powerlifting equipment—different specialty bars, accessories, and racks. It truly is a gem of a gym.
Atmosphere:
The vibe was fantastic. The members training there were all respectful and polite, which made the environment even more enjoyable.
Value:
The casual entry fee is only $20 per person, which is an absolute bargain for a facility of this quality.
Overall, this place sets the standard for what a serious yet welcoming training environment should be. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Nexus has become a home away from home for me. When I first joined just over a year ago, my best lifts added up to around 440kg. Since then, I’ve competed in my first powerlifting comp and brought my total up to 552.5kg and that’s no accident.
The coaching here isn’t just top tier it’s personal, Will has been amazing and the progress I’ve made under his guidance has been unreal. He knows when to push, when to pull back, and always has a reason behind everything we do.
The staff are amazing too. Honestly, Kivah has to be one of the nicest blokes I’ve ever met always welcoming, genuinely supportive, and just easy to talk to.
I’ve also made some of my closest mates through this gym. The environment is serious but welcoming no ego, just a bunch of people chasing goals and helping each other.
And trust me… your music taste will change after training here. Whether you’re ready for it or not 😂

The staff, equipment, and community are all top-notch. The team is always friendly, knowledgeable, and ready to help. The equipment is well-maintained and there’s plenty of variety. Easily one of the best gyms I’ve been a part of!
