We stayed here for 2 nights a few years ago and absolutely loved it so we decided to come back . Well let me tell you that we will never return here ever again the room was absolutely filthy the sheets had evidently not been changed for quite some time the only spare blanket provided in the room was stained with what I could only say looked like urine . The shower in the ensuite was unusable and the shower in the second bathroom was not much better . The lounge was so uncomfortable and the dining table and chairs were very out dated and worn . The mould in the ducted air con vents was absolutely disgusting . The out door furniture was also very stained and the kitchen utensils needed to washed before they could be used .
I did mention this to the receptionist when I dropped the keys back and also showed her the photos I had taken and her response was we have been very busy this week , the room was cleaned before you checked in but I’ll make sure to let the cleaner know she needs to do a more thorough job today .
I thought that she may actually do this but then I came here and read the reviews and I saw another review for the exact same room (5224) and some of the same issues and realised it’s not going to be fixed so decided to post my own review.
If I could give no stars I would .

Our stay in the 3 Bedroom collection apartment was clean, modern and well maintained. A nice base for exploring the nearby theme parks. I was terrified when reading previous Google reviews and called the residences to enquire. I was told some of townhouses are very poorly kept and unmaintained, whereas the apartment was better than most hotels I've stayed in.
It is well suited to Travellers with a hire car. The gated community aspect would be problematic if relying on taxis.
We would happily return.
A second swipe card would make a huge difference if someone doesn't want to go with your group they are very much trapped in the building, if they leave they can't get back in.

I had booked an apartment at the residences on booking.com and only read the reviews there (which were all good), without reading the google reviews. I ended up reading the google reviews the night before heading there, and started to get a little anxious seeing how negative they all were. I messaged the property and expressed my concerns, and they reassured me that if anything were an issue, they would resolve this.
I was pleasantly surprised. Overall, the apartment was really clean. We had a decent view on our balcony, and the beds were really comfortable. The air con worked perfectly, and we even got upgraded to a 2-bed apartment for no extra cost (I think this may have had something to do with my booking.com rating, but I’m not sure).
We had no issues with our stay.
Reasons it’s a 4 star and not 5:
• Although generally pretty clean, some minor things to note (I’m a cleaner myself, so easily spotted these things) - mirrors were a little streaky, bottoms of shower and shower grouts needed a better clean where there was a bit of grime build up, same as under the sink plug. Sofa had some questionable stains on.
• Location is a little far out from things. However, it’s close to all bus services which is great. Keep in mind buses don’t seem to run very late around this area, and if you’re getting an uber you may have to walk to the nearby Cole’s to get one, as the apartments are in a gated community.
• Tea/coffee options were a little basic (no white sugar, no decaf options) but fine.
Aspects we loved:
• Gated community made it feel super safe.
• Really pretty surrounding area.
• Right near bus stops making travel convenient. Easy pick up points with the coles being a 5-10 min walk (depending what apartment you’re at).

Honestly disgraceful.
We had trouble getting an uber from Brisbane airport to hope island. We landed at 2:30 pm and were only able to get an uber at 4pm.
We were contacted by the hotel reception, a lady named Zoe. She told us that reception was closing at 4:30 and that we would have to go to a different location to pick up our key that she would put in a safe. She was quite rude on this call and even though I explained that the delay was not our fault. We had to add a stop to our uber ride which of course cost more. We arrived at said location, followed the instructions that she had sent us over text and when I opened the safe there was no envelope with the key in there. I then proceeded to call Zoe and she said that she had not placed the key in the safe, she was still at the original location- with our key because of a ‘customer delay’ I expressed to her that she had instructed us to come to this secondary location and that there was no way around it but now she had gone back on that? I shared with her that I was not happy because we had to pay extra for a second stop with the uber and she hung up on me. We arrived at the original location and she met us on the road. We got out of the car and she handed us the envelope with little to no words spoken. I expressed to her that we were not happy with the miscommunication and asked if we would be compensated. She gave me a look and said “if you want 24hr service you should have booked with another hotel” - excuse me?? I asked her why she could not simply message us that she had not dropped the keys off at the safe and to go to the original location instead. She kept giving unreasonable excuses and raised her voice, was incredibly rude and walking away from us. This is appalling customer service. She was unnecessarily rude from the get go. Not impressed. She was more worried that she could not finish her work day on her usual time of 4:30pm, not apologetic at all that she had messed us around. Mind you the reason she couldn’t finish at her usual time was due to “another customer delay” - her words. Not because if us but proceeded to take her frustrations out on us.
To top it off, the apartment is not clean or maintained. Posting these photos as we were asked to give a $200 deposit over the phone by Zoe on the initial phone call and were told that we will not be refunded if when we checkout out the place is not clean or there's any damage. It wouldn’t let me add all the photos. There are 59 in total.

I stayed here in 2021 and rebooked for December 2025—my biggest mistake was not checking recent reviews. The townhouse and service have deteriorated badly and completely ruined our holiday, especially given the high price.
The townhouse was filthy, with faeces and urine residue in two toilets, dirty pillows and linen with visible hair that caused allergic reactions, and an ongoing bad smell. There were no tissue boxes at all—when requested, staff said they do not provide them. We were given only four towels for four people for a five-night stay and had to repeatedly ask for basics.
Amenities and kitchenware were minimal and poor quality. The building felt cheaply constructed—walking upstairs caused constant cracking noises, making it feel like the floor might break. Furniture was broken (see photo), walls were dirty, and overall maintenance was clearly neglected.
I feel obliged to warn others this accommodation is so badly maintained and not worth the money
